Willard School's Technology Showcase

As students and staff become more accustomed to using technology in their classrooms, this page will begin to change. We try to showcase projects that clearly show the integration of technology into the curriculum. Some of our projects require a plug-in to view. We'll give you the link to acquire that plug-in. We hope you enjoy our hard work.

This spring our computer lab welcomed first and second graders for three visits. The first graders were buddied with a fifth grader while second graders worked on their own with parent volunteers. Each class chose a theme and students used the program KidPix to draw a picture and write a sentence. Click on the teacher's name to see the project.

Third, Fourth and Fifth graders visit the computer lab once a week with their classroom teacher. We work on a variety of curriculum-related projects.

Fifth graders spent a tremendous amount of their computer time learning how to use the Internet, evaluating sites and practicing those skills. At the end of the year, students researched the day they were born and created a small project about that day. Those projects were not completed in time to post, but students enjoyed working on them and were able to use their technology skills for an authentic project.
